The Eid cleanliness plan in Gujranwala has been finalized ahead of Eid-ul-Adha as divisional authorities announced extensive arrangements for sanitation and waste management. Commissioner Muhammad Ali directed all municipal bodies to remain active throughout the holidays.
Officials said special teams have been formed to ensure immediate removal of sacrificial animal waste across the division. The administration aims to maintain cleanliness in residential areas, markets, and public places during Eid days.
According to the divisional administration, around 377 primary collection points have been established for waste collection and disposal. In addition, authorities have identified 579 locations for safe disposal of animal remains.
The commissioner stated that managing directors of Suthra Punjab and municipal authorities will supervise sanitation operations in all districts. Field staff will continue monitoring cleanliness activities without interruption during the Eid holidays.
Authorities also announced that nearly 1.2 million waste disposal bags have been distributed among citizens. Residents have been advised to cooperate with sanitation teams and dispose of animal remains responsibly.
To improve the environment and reduce unpleasant odors, around 6,000 liters of rose water will be sprayed across various areas of the division. Officials further confirmed that 11,000 liters of phenyl will also be used at collection points.
Commissioner Muhammad Ali warned that negligence in cleanliness operations would not be tolerated. All departments have been instructed to coordinate effectively to ensure a clean and healthy environment for citizens during Eid-ul-Adha.
