Iran Claims Retaliatory Strike on US Airbase

Iran US tensions have escalated sharply after Iran claimed it carried out a retaliatory strike on a United States airbase in response to recent American air operations. The development has further intensified security concerns across the Gulf region.

According to Iranian reports, the attack targeted a US military airbase allegedly used for launching operations against Iranian positions. Iran’s Revolutionary Guard stated that the action was a direct response to what it described as unprovoked aggression.

Iran US tensions have been building over the past week after multiple airstrikes were reported in the region, including areas near Bandar Abbas port. Iran has repeatedly warned that any violation of its territorial security will be met with a strong response.

Iranian officials said the message to Washington is clear: any further attacks will trigger a more decisive and forceful retaliation. They emphasized that responsibility for escalation lies with the opposing side.

Meanwhile, Iran also claimed it blocked the entry of three vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global shipping route. The incident has raised fresh concerns about maritime security and global oil supply chains.

International media reports added further complexity, with claims that Iranian forces fired at a US oil tanker attempting to pass through the Strait of Hormuz with its radar turned off. These reports have not been independently verified.

On the other hand, US sources claimed that American forces intercepted and destroyed multiple Iranian drones in the region. The United States stated that its recent operations were aimed at protecting military assets and commercial shipping routes.
