Iran strikes world’s largest aircraft carrier, says Trump

US President Donald Trump confirmed that Iran attacked the USS Gerald R. Ford, the world’s largest aircraft carrier. He stated the ship was targeted from 17 different directions in a highly intense assault. Crew members had to seek safety, and high-speed jets took off from the carrier every 32 seconds after midnight to protect personnel.

Trump noted that unusual activity before the attack signaled the seriousness of the situation. He described the assault as severe, emphasizing the threat to both crew and vessel. The incident underscores escalating tensions between the United States and Iran in the Middle East.

In response, the US Navy has deployed the USS George H.W. Bush from Norfolk to the region. The new carrier group may join the USS Gerald R. Ford and USS Abraham Lincoln, which are already operating in the area.

With this deployment, the US will have three aircraft carriers stationed in the Middle East. The USS Ford is currently docked at Crete for repairs, while the arrival of the new fleet aims to strengthen American military operations against Iran.

Officials said the additional carrier group is meant to enhance strategic readiness and reinforce US deterrence amid rising regional tensions. The United States continues to closely monitor Iran while maintaining full military preparedness.
