Trump Calls US Navy “Like Pirates” in Iran Blockade

The US Iran naval blockade has intensified global tensions after former US President Donald Trump described the US Navy’s actions against Iranian shipping as “like pirates,” during remarks on ongoing maritime operations.

Speaking at a public event in Florida, Trump said US forces were intercepting and seizing Iranian cargo ships and oil tankers as part of the blockade strategy. He claimed that vessels and cargo were being taken during enforcement operations at sea.

According to reports, several Iranian ships have been seized after leaving ports, including tankers and cargo vessels that were allegedly subject to sanctions. The US has expanded maritime enforcement across key shipping routes in the region.

The US Iran naval blockade is linked to wider tensions in the Gulf, where Iran has also reportedly restricted shipping through strategic waterways, while Washington has imposed countermeasures targeting Iranian maritime activity.

Trump stated that the operations were financially beneficial and described them in controversial terms, comparing them to piracy. His remarks have drawn criticism from analysts and political observers.

The conflict has also disrupted global energy markets, as the Strait of Hormuz remains a critical route for oil and gas transportation. Any restriction in this area significantly impacts international supply chains.

The US Iran naval blockade situation continues to evolve amid ongoing military and diplomatic tensions, with no clear resolution in sight as maritime confrontations persist.
