China praises Pakistan’s economic resilience, pledges support

China has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Pakistan, particularly in trade, investment, and strategic economic projects. Discussions also highlighted regional stability and future high-level engagements between the two countries.

H.E. Jiang Zaidong, Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister’s House on Thursday, according to a PMO statement.

During the meeting, the premier congratulated Chinese leadership on the successful conclusion of the “Two Sessions” and expressed gratitude for Pakistan Day greetings from President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Qiang, and Foreign Minister Wang Yi.

Prime Minister Shehbaz emphasized China’s consistent economic backing and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to advancing CPEC 2.0, focusing on agriculture, industrial collaboration, and priority infrastructure projects. Ambassador Jiang praised Pakistan’s economic resilience and reforms, reaffirming China’s support in trade and investment.

Both sides expressed satisfaction with ongoing exchanges and looked forward to high-level engagements commemorating the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations. The prime minister also highlighted Pakistan’s role in promoting de-escalation and regional stability.

The leaders underscored continued close coordination on shared interests and reaffirmed the enduring Pakistan-China All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership, reflecting the long-term strength of bilateral ties.
