Gold jumps Rs4,800 per tola in Pakistan

Gold prices in Pakistan rose sharply on Saturday, following gains in the global market. The price per tola increased by Rs4,800 to reach Rs472,062. Meanwhile, 10-gram gold gained Rs4,116, selling at Rs404,717, according to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).

On Friday, gold per tola had fallen by Rs1,000 to Rs467,262, reflecting minor fluctuations in local rates. The international gold price rose by $48 to $4,493 per ounce, with a $20 premium, driving the increase in domestic prices.

Analysts said the rise reflects strong investor interest and global trends favoring precious metals. Local jewellers reported stable demand, with buyers closely monitoring price movements for future purchases.

Silver prices, however, remained steady at Rs7,454 per tola, showing no change despite fluctuations in gold rates. Traders noted that silver demand has been consistent in recent weeks.

The surge in gold prices highlights the influence of international markets on Pakistan’s precious metals sector, underlining the sensitivity of local rates to global price shifts.
