Israeli Army Chief Warns of Internal Collapse Amid Troop Shortag

Israel Army Chief Eyal Zamir has issued a stark warning about a potential internal collapse within the military.

In a statement, he said he is raising “10 red flags” to highlight the severity of the current situation facing the armed forces.

He noted that reserve soldiers are reaching their limits and may no longer be able to continue fighting effectively on the battlefield.

Zamir warned that without urgent legal reforms and policy changes regarding reserve forces, the military structure could begin to break down internally.

Former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett also raised concerns, stating that Israel is facing a shortage of around 20,000 troops.

He criticized the government for entering the conflict without proper planning, adequate resources, or sufficient manpower.

Opposition leader Yair Lapid described the warning as unprecedented, saying he has never heard such a serious alert from an army chief in his 13 years in the security cabinet.
