Kuwaiti crown prince backs Pakistan’s US-Iran mediation

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a high-level phone call with Kuwaiti Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al Khaled Al Hamad Al Sabah on Friday. They discussed the escalating Middle East crisis and ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation.

During the conversation, the Kuwaiti crown prince expressed full support for Pakistan’s efforts to mediate between the United States and Iran, according to the Prime Minister’s Office. Islamabad is reportedly preparing to host in-person talks aimed at de-escalating the conflict.

PM Shehbaz briefed Kuwait on Pakistan’s “sincere diplomatic efforts to end the Middle East war,” earning appreciation for his leadership. Earlier, he had announced Pakistan’s readiness to host conclusive negotiations, subject to US and Iran approval.

The prime minister also condemned recent attacks on Kuwait, reaffirming Pakistan’s solidarity with the Kuwaiti people. He offered prayers for the victims and wished the injured a speedy recovery, emphasizing Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace.

The crown prince thanked PM Shehbaz for his letter of solidarity and expressed interest in visiting Pakistan once the security situation improves. The call highlighted Pakistan’s growing diplomatic role in promoting stability in the Middle East.
