Pezeshkian lauds Turkey’s support against Israeli aggression

TEHRAN – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Wednesday praised Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for his firm position against what he described as Israeli aggression.

In an official statement, Pezeshkian called Erdogan’s decisive stance “commendable” and highlighted Turkey’s longstanding role in supporting the Muslim world.

“We will continue to move forward together on this dignified path with the grace of God,” Pezeshkian said, signaling close diplomatic alignment between Tehran and Ankara.

The remarks followed Erdogan’s own statement that Turkiye would use all available resources to support peace efforts in Iran.

Erdogan noted that the ongoing conflict has engulfed the region and emphasized that the Turkish government is taking steps to minimize its economic impact at home. His comments underscore Turkiye’s growing role as a mediator amid escalating tensions in the Middle East.

Meanwhile, the United States has also pursued diplomatic avenues. President Donald Trump recently sent a peace plan to Iran and expressed optimism about ending nearly a month of hostilities.

Tehran, in turn, announced it would allow “non-hostile” oil vessels to transit the strategic Strait of Hormuz.

Despite these diplomatic gestures, violence continues across the region. Iranian missile strikes have injured people in Israel, which has vowed to press on multiple fronts and assert control over parts of southern Lebanon.

Trump stated that negotiations with Iran are ongoing, though Tehran has not publicly confirmed any formal talks.
