PNS Khyber Joins Pakistan Navy with Advanced Technology

Pakistan has strengthened its naval defense with the induction of the second PNS Khyber into its fleet, equipped with modern and unique technologies. The addition marks a significant step in enhancing the country’s maritime security.

The formal induction ceremony was held with Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of the Naval Staff, attending the event. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the new ship brings advanced platforms and capabilities to the navy.

Admiral Ashraf emphasized that the modern platforms and technologies on board PNS Khyber enable Pakistan to target key enemy infrastructure and maritime assets efficiently. The ship is designed to perform in diverse operational scenarios.

Pakistan occupies a strategic position along vital global energy maritime routes. The Naval Chief stated that maritime security is a top priority, and a strong naval force is essential to safeguard national interests and ensure safe trade routes.

He highlighted that during any conflict, the Pakistan Navy is fully prepared to counter threats, including the capability to neutralize hostile aircraft carriers like India’s Vikrant. The navy remains ready to respond decisively to any act challenging Pakistan’s maritime interests.

The Chief further mentioned that PNS Khyber and future Hangor-class submarines will act as a “steel wall” for national maritime defense. These platforms are designed to deter aggression and protect sovereign waters effectively.

In conclusion, Admiral Ashraf reaffirmed Pakistan Navy’s commitment to defending the country’s maritime boundaries and safeguarding independent seas, underlining the navy’s role as a key pillar of national security.
