Trump Says Pakistan Helped Prevent Iran Action

US President Donald Trump has claimed that Pakistan played a role in preventing American action against Iran during ongoing tensions in the Middle East. Speaking in a television interview, Trump said the United States halted planned action against Iran following a request from Pakistan.

Trump on Iran has once again drawn global attention as he discussed the future of a possible nuclear agreement with Tehran. He stated that Iran is seeking a deal with the United States, but negotiations have not yet reached a final stage and Washington remains unsatisfied with the proposed framework.

The former US president said America could have treated Iran in the same way it dealt with Venezuela. However, he added that Pakistan’s request influenced the decision to pause direct action against Tehran during the sensitive regional situation.

Trump praised Pakistan’s leadership during the interview, referring to Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif as “excellent personalities.” His remarks have sparked political and diplomatic discussions regarding Pakistan’s role in regional peace efforts.

Discussing the Iran conflict, Trump said the United States suffered only 13 casualties during tensions involving Iran, while wars in Afghanistan and Iraq resulted in thousands of deaths. He stressed that Washington wants to avoid another prolonged conflict in the region.

Trump on Iran also included strong comments about Tehran’s nuclear programme. He said Iran is negotiating from a weak position and warned that the country has limited options. According to him, either a deal will be reached or the United States may “complete the job.”

The US president further stated that sanctions relief is not currently under discussion and expressed concern over Iran’s highly enriched uranium. He also emphasized that the Strait of Hormuz should remain open for all countries and said maritime movement in the area would be restored at the appropriate time.
