PM Says Pakistan Defence in Strong Hands on Youm-e-Takbeer

Pakistan defence was described as fully secure and in strong hands by the Prime Minister in his message on the occasion of Youm-e-Takbeer. He said the country’s armed forces remain fully prepared to defend every inch of the motherland.

The nation is observing the 28th anniversary of Youm-e-Takbeer, marking Pakistan’s successful nuclear tests conducted on May 28, 1998 in the Chaghi district of Balochistan. The event made Pakistan a declared nuclear power and reshaped regional security dynamics.

The Prime Minister paid tribute to former leaders including Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Nawaz Sharif, as well as scientists Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan and Dr Samar Mubarakmand. He said their contributions strengthened Pakistan defence and ensured national security.

In his address, the Prime Minister stated that without nuclear capability, Pakistan could have faced greater external threats. He emphasized that nuclear deterrence and the armed forces together form a strong shield for national sovereignty.

He also referred to regional security challenges, stating that Pakistan has successfully countered hostile designs through unity and strong military leadership. He praised the professionalism of the armed forces under Field Marshal Asim Munir.

The Prime Minister warned that attempts to destabilize the country through proxy elements would not succeed. He reaffirmed that Pakistan defence remains on high alert and fully capable of responding to any aggression with strength and precision.

On this Youm-e-Takbeer, military leadership including the heads of the army, air force, and navy extended greetings to the nation. ISPR stated that Pakistan’s nuclear capability restored strategic balance in South Asia and remains a symbol of national unity and resilience.
