PMD Forecasts Rain, Thunderstorms in Upper Pakistan From June 2 to 5

The PMD Rain Forecast Pakistan indicates that several upper and northern regions of the country are expected to experience rain, thunderstorms, and dust storms from June 2 to June 5. According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a westerly weather system is likely to enter the upper parts of the country, bringing unstable weather conditions.

The weather department said scattered rain and thunderstorms are expected in various districts of Punjab and Islamabad. Some areas, including Rawalpindi, Murree, Galliyat, Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Multan, Bahawalpur, and Dera Ghazi Khan, may also receive isolated heavy rainfall and hailstorms during the forecast period.

Under the PMD Rain Forecast Pakistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan are also expected to witness widespread weather activity. Rain, windstorms, and thunderstorms are forecast in Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Bagh, Kotli, Mirpur, and surrounding areas from June 2 to June 5. In Gilgit-Baltistan, intermittent rainfall and thunderstorms are expected from June 4 to June 6.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is likely to receive scattered rain and thunderstorms with occasional gaps. Areas including Swat, Chitral, Dir, Malakand, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Peshawar, Kohat, Bannu, Kurram, and Waziristan may experience changing weather conditions throughout the week.

The PMD has also forecast dust storms and thunderstorms in upper Sindh, including Sukkur, Larkana, Jacobabad, Khairpur, Dadu, and Ghotki. Similar weather conditions are expected in northeastern Balochistan, particularly in Quetta, Zhob, Ziarat, Chaman, Qila Abdullah, and nearby districts.

Officials warned that strong winds, hailstorms, and heavy rain could damage weak structures such as electric poles, trees, solar panels, and temporary shelters. The department also highlighted the possibility of landslides in vulnerable mountainous regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir.

The PMD Rain Forecast Pakistan advises farmers to plan agricultural activities carefully and urges tourists to remain cautious while traveling to northern areas. Authorities have been instructed to stay alert and take preventive measures to minimize weather-related risks during the forecast period.
