Pakistan, Tajikistan Unveil Roadmap to Expand Bilateral Trade to $200 Million

Pakistan Tajikistan Bilateral Trade relations received a major boost as both countries agreed on a three-year roadmap aimed at increasing trade volume to $200 million. The agreement was reached during the 8th Session of the Joint Commission on Trade, Economic and Scientific-Technical Cooperation held in Dushanbe.

The meeting brought together senior officials from both sides to review progress in economic cooperation. Discussions covered a wide range of sectors, including energy, trade, agriculture, health, transport, education, science and technology, tourism, and culture.

Strengthening Pakistan Tajikistan Bilateral Trade was a key focus of the talks. Both countries agreed to facilitate trade delegations, business-to-business meetings, and virtual engagements to encourage commercial partnerships and identify new investment opportunities.

Officials also emphasized the importance of improving market access by exchanging information on tariffs, regulations, and priority sectors. The two sides welcomed progress on a memorandum of understanding between their trade promotion agencies and reaffirmed their commitment to concluding a preferential trade agreement.

In the energy sector, both countries praised developments in the CASA-1000 project, which is expected to enhance regional energy connectivity. Pakistan and Tajikistan agreed to continue working closely to ensure the timely completion of the project and resolve any remaining operational issues.

Agricultural cooperation was another important area of discussion. The two countries agreed to collaborate on agricultural trade, high-yield crop varieties, and the exchange of expertise in phytosanitary and veterinary services. These initiatives are expected to further strengthen Pakistan Tajikistan Bilateral Trade in the coming years.

The session concluded with both governments reaffirming their commitment to deeper cooperation in trade, energy, tourism, agriculture, and regional connectivity. Officials expressed confidence that the new roadmap would help unlock economic opportunities and elevate Pakistan Tajikistan Bilateral Trade to a new level of strategic partnership.
