Bilawal Urges Voters to Back PPP in Gilgit-Baltistan Elections

The Gilgit-Baltistan Elections campaign intensified on Thursday as PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari called on voters in Ghizer to grant his party a strong mandate. Addressing a public rally, he said a clear majority would help safeguard the region’s rights and ensure the completion of long-promised reforms.

Bilawal told supporters that the Pakistan Peoples Party needed broad public backing across Gilgit-Baltistan to advance its agenda. He argued that a decisive electoral victory would strengthen the party’s ability to advocate for the region’s interests and secure greater constitutional and political rights.

During his speech, Bilawal highlighted the contributions of past PPP leaders, including initiatives introduced during the tenures of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Benazir Bhutto, and Asif Ali Zardari. He said these efforts helped expand political representation and administrative recognition for the region.

The Gilgit-Baltistan Elections have increasingly focused on issues of land ownership and local rights. Bilawal pointed to previous legislation concerning public land and pledged to continue pursuing measures that would strengthen legal protections and ownership rights for residents.

Employment opportunities also featured prominently in his address. The PPP chairman promised to support job creation through both public and private sector initiatives, particularly for young people seeking economic opportunities in the region.

Bilawal further proposed the use of modern technology and artificial intelligence in recruitment and examination processes. He said such measures could help ensure transparency and merit-based selection while reducing concerns about favoritism or political influence.

As campaigning continues ahead of polling day, the Gilgit-Baltistan Elections remain centered on issues such as governance, economic development, employment, and regional rights. Political parties are intensifying outreach efforts as voters prepare to cast their ballots in the upcoming contest.
