Skardu: Chief Election Commissioner of Gilgit-BaltistanChief Election Commissioner of Gilgit-Baltistan, Raja Shehbaz, has directed all Returning Officers across the region’s 24 constituencies to immediately issue attested copies of Form-45 from polling stations where vote counting has been completed. The directive was issued on June 7, 2026, as counting continues across GB.
According to the Election Commission, the process must strictly follow provisions of the Elections Act 2017 and Election Rules 2017. The CEC emphasized that transparency is key, and presiding officers must provide Form-45 to polling agents on the spot once tabulation at each polling station is finalized.
The Gilgit-Baltistan Election Commission has instructed all ROs to ensure full compliance with the order. Officials said this step is aimed at maintaining public trust and preventing any delays in sharing polling station-level results with candidates and observers.
The Commission also issued a clear warning to media outlets. It stated that no channel should broadcast unverified or unconfirmed news about Form-45 not being issued. Only information confirmed by the Election Commission or relevant ROs should be reported to avoid confusion and misinformation.
Sources said attested Form-45s are already being handed over at polling stations where counting is complete. As remaining stations finish tabulation, the consolidated results will be compiled into Form-47 for final declaration.
The Election Commission reiterated that final results for GB’s 24 general seats, plus reserved seats for women and technocrats, will be announced only after complete verification. Citizens and candidates have been advised to rely on official updates from the Election Commission.
