Egypt Condemns Deadly Strike on Lebanese Army Patrol and Warns of Escalation

Egypt condemns Lebanese army strike as regional tensions continue to rise following a deadly attack that reportedly killed two Lebanese army officers and a soldier. Cairo described the incident as a serious escalation and expressed concern over its potential impact on Middle East stability.

In an official statement, Egypt’s Foreign Ministry said it was closely monitoring developments in Lebanon and strongly criticized the attack. The ministry described the strike as a violation of Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, calling for an immediate end to actions that could further inflame tensions.

Egypt urged the international community to take effective measures to stop repeated violations against Lebanese territory. Officials stressed the importance of respecting international law and safeguarding Lebanon’s national institutions during a period of heightened regional uncertainty.

The latest incident has intensified concerns about security conditions along the Lebanon-Israel border. Continued exchanges of fire and military operations have raised fears that local confrontations could expand into a broader regional conflict.

As Egypt condemns Lebanese army strike, Cairo has also emphasized the need for diplomatic efforts to prevent further escalation. Egyptian officials warned that growing instability could undermine regional security and complicate ongoing attempts to reduce tensions across the Middle East.

The Egyptian government reaffirmed its support for Lebanon’s sovereignty, unity and state institutions. It also reiterated its opposition to attacks targeting Lebanese territory and called for greater international engagement to preserve stability.

Egypt further urged the full implementation of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701, which seeks to maintain peace along the Lebanese-Israeli border. As Egypt condemns Lebanese army strike, officials continue to advocate dialogue and de-escalation as the most effective path toward regional peace and security.
