Pakistan has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening military ties with Lebanon, as part of efforts to expand regional defence partnerships. The announcement came during high-level discussions focused on enhancing strategic and institutional cooperation between the two armed forces.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir emphasized Pakistan’s dedication to broadening the Pakistan Lebanon Defence Cooperation framework during a meeting with Lebanese Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief General Rodolphe Haykal in Rawalpindi. The talks focused on shared security interests and regional stability.
According to military officials, the Pakistan Lebanon Defence Cooperation agenda includes expanding training exchanges, professional military interactions, and stronger institutional linkages between the two countries’ armed forces. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the progress in bilateral relations.
General Haykal praised the professionalism and operational capabilities of Pakistan’s armed forces. He also acknowledged Pakistan’s contributions to international peacekeeping missions, highlighting the importance of continued cooperation under the Pakistan Lebanon Defence Cooperation initiative.
During the meeting, both military leaders exchanged views on the evolving regional security environment. Discussions also included defence collaboration and opportunities to deepen military engagement, reflecting growing momentum in the Pakistan Lebanon Defence Cooperation partnership.
