PSX KSE-100 Index

PSX stays positive as KSE-100 gains 103 points

The PSX KSE-100 Index remained in positive territory during mid-day trading on Thursday, gaining 103.36 points, or 0.06%, to reach 174,533.28. Investors maintained a cautious approach as the market traded within a narrow range despite opening with early gains.

The benchmark index started the session on a positive note and climbed to an intraday high of 175,237.59 before giving up part of its gains. It later slipped to an intraday low of 174,144.11, reflecting a mixed trading pattern throughout the session.

Trading activity remained moderate, with total volume reaching 60.14 million shares by mid-day. The value of traded shares stood at approximately Rs3.52 billion, indicating steady but selective investor participation across various sectors.

Market participants said investors were carefully assessing economic and corporate developments before making fresh positions. The session was marked by range-bound trading, with buying interest offset by selling pressure at higher price levels.

According to market observers, institutional participation remained limited during the session. They noted that some investors opted for profit-taking after the benchmark index approached its intraday peak, restricting further upward momentum.

Despite the cautious mood, the market continued to show resilience and avoided major losses. Analysts believe sector-specific buying and overall investor sentiment will likely determine the direction of the market during the remainder of the trading session.

The PSX KSE-100 Index has remained under close watch as investors monitor domestic economic developments and global market trends. Market participants will be looking to see whether the benchmark index can extend its gains before the close of trading.
