Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said there is no military solution to the Iran Yemen conflict, urging dialogue instead of further fighting. His remarks came after Saudi Arabia and the Iran-backed Houthi rebels exchanged fresh attacks, raising concerns about regional stability.
Speaking in an interview published by Iran Daily on Saturday, Araghchi stressed that military action would not resolve issues in Yemen, the Bab al-Mandab Strait, or other regional disputes. He said negotiations remain the only practical path toward lasting peace.
The foreign minister rejected claims that Iran is responsible for the current situation in Yemen. According to Araghchi, the conflict is rooted in long-standing disagreements involving Yemen, Saudi Arabia, and other countries in the region rather than direct Iranian involvement.
Araghchi also highlighted the strategic importance of the Bab al-Mandab Strait, a key global shipping route. He said tensions in the area are linked to historical regional disputes and should be addressed through political engagement rather than military escalation.
