The death toll of militants killed during Operation Al-Azm has risen to 13 as Pakistan’s security forces continue intelligence-based counterterrorism operations in Balochistan. According to state media, the latest action targeted militant hideouts in the Khad Kocha area of Mastung district.
Security sources said the operation dealt another blow to the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), which officials referred to as Fitna al-Hindustan. Several militant hideouts were destroyed during the operation, disrupting the group’s activities in the area.
Authorities also recovered a cache of weapons, ammunition, and materials allegedly used to prepare improvised explosive devices (IEDs). Security officials said the recovered items would help prevent future attacks and weaken militant capabilities in the region.
According to security sources, several militants were also injured during the operation. Clearance and search activities remain underway as security forces continue efforts to eliminate remaining threats and secure affected areas in Balochistan.
Earlier this week, security forces killed 10 militants and arrested two female suicide bombers along with a suspected facilitator during separate intelligence-based operations in Surab and Mastung districts. The operations form part of Pakistan’s broader counterterrorism campaign.
The military’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), said the operations targeted groups it described as Fitna al-Hindustan and Fitna al-Khwarij. Officials said intelligence-based operations would continue until militant networks are dismantled.
Operation Al-Azm remains a key part of Pakistan’s ongoing security strategy against militant violence. Authorities have reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining pressure on armed groups while continuing efforts to strengthen security and stability across Balochistan.
