Global Oil Prices Near $110 as Middle East Tensions Fuel Supply Concerns

Global oil prices surged to their highest level in nearly two months as escalating tensions between the United States and Iran raised concerns over global energy supplies. The latest gains pushed some crude grades close to the $110-per-barrel mark, reflecting growing uncertainty in international markets.

Brent crude, the global benchmark used to price most internationally traded oil, climbed above $105 per barrel during the week. According to market data, Brent reached $105.70 per barrel, marking its highest level since late May and moving above the $100 threshold for the first time in weeks.

The rise in global oil prices has been driven by fears of supply disruptions linked to conflicts in the Middle East and the ongoing war involving Ukraine. Energy traders are seeking alternative sources of crude oil as concerns over supply security continue to increase.

North Sea Forties crude also recorded strong gains, with prices reaching $108.77 per barrel. Some physical crude cargoes were reportedly traded close to $110 per barrel as buyers rushed to secure immediate deliveries amid tightening supply conditions.

Market analysts said supply concerns have once again become the dominant factor influencing oil prices. Increased geopolitical risks have added pressure to energy markets, while uncertainty surrounding major export routes has strengthened bullish sentiment among traders.

Adding to market uncertainty, Kazakhstan announced a reduction in oil production after its key CPC Blend export terminal on the Black Sea was reportedly affected by suspected Ukrainian drone attacks. Production is said to have fallen to around 460,000 barrels per day.

Experts believe global oil prices may remain volatile if geopolitical tensions persist. Investors and energy markets will closely monitor developments in the Middle East and Eastern Europe, as any further disruption to supply could push crude prices even higher in the coming weeks.
