Israeli forces detained at least 48 Palestinians during extensive West Bank raids carried out across the occupied territory on Saturday, according to Palestinian media reports. Separately, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society said eight Palestinians were injured in an attack by Israeli occupiers in the village of Farata, east of Qalqilya.
The official Voice of Palestine radio reported that more than 40 Palestinians were detained during an ongoing military raid in the town of Tell, west of Nablus. According to the broadcaster, Israeli troops surrounded the town, conducted house-to-house searches, and converted one residential building into a temporary field interrogation center.
The latest West Bank raids followed an order issued on Friday by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz for a wide-scale military operation in Palestinian villages after an attack near the Havat Gilad settlement that killed two Israeli soldiers and wounded three others.
Palestinian sources reported that Israeli occupiers later attacked several communities in the Nablus governorate, setting fire to homes and other property. The Palestinian Health Ministry said four Palestinians were killed on Friday during violence involving Israeli forces and occupiers in the town of Tell.
The Palestinian news agency WAFA also reported that Israeli forces carried out pre-dawn raids across Jenin governorate. Five Palestinians were detained during searches of multiple homes, while military operations continued in different parts of the area. Three additional Palestinians were detained in Bethlehem governorate.
In a separate incident, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society said eight Palestinians were injured during an attack by Israeli occupiers in Farata. The organization reported that six of the injured sustained live gunshot wounds but did not immediately provide further information about their conditions.
The ongoing West Bank raids have added to tensions across the occupied Palestinian territory, with humanitarian organizations and international observers continuing to monitor the situation as security operations and violence persist in several areas.
