Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has praised Pakistan’s security forces for successfully foiling a terrorist attack on a security checkpoint in South Waziristan. According to an official statement, the forces responded swiftly to the assault and killed four militants during the operation.
The Prime Minister commended the professionalism, courage, and timely response of the security personnel. He said the attack was carried out by militants whom the government refers to as Fitna al-Khawarij, alleging they were operating with Indian support. India has consistently rejected Pakistani allegations of supporting militant groups.
Shehbaz Sharif stated that the bravery displayed by the security forces once again demonstrated their commitment to protecting Pakistan’s sovereignty and national security. He added that the country’s defenders had successfully defeated the attackers’ objectives.
The Prime Minister also said the entire nation stands firmly with the armed forces and law enforcement agencies in the fight against terrorism. He praised their continued sacrifices and dedication to maintaining peace and stability across the country.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment to counterterrorism, Shehbaz Sharif said operations under Operation Azm-e-Istehkam would continue until terrorism is completely eliminated from the country.
Pakistan has witnessed a rise in militant attacks in recent years, prompting security forces to intensify intelligence-based operations in affected regions. Officials say counterterrorism efforts remain a top national priority.
