A high-level Balochistan security meeting was held in Quetta on Saturday as Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti to review the province’s law and order situation. The leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening security institutions and intensifying counter-terrorism efforts across Balochistan.
During the meeting, Chief Minister Bugti briefed participants on the province’s overall security environment, ongoing operations, and the government’s future strategy to restore peace. Officials also discussed measures aimed at improving coordination between federal and provincial authorities.
The Balochistan security meeting decided to enhance the professional capabilities of the Counter-Terrorism Force and the Balochistan Police. Authorities also agreed to accelerate police reforms, while the Interior Ministry assured the provincial government of full support in providing the required resources.

Speaking after the meeting, Mohsin Naqvi said the federal government would continue extending every possible assistance to ensure lasting peace in Balochistan. He emphasized the immediate implementation of the province’s peace restoration plan and recommended using the expertise of former Balochistan police chiefs in shaping future security strategies.
Naqvi stressed that modern technology, intelligence sharing, and coordinated action are essential for tackling terrorism. He said the federal and provincial governments were working together with complete unity to establish peace and improve public security.
Chief Minister Bugti reaffirmed that the government would remain firm in its campaign against terrorism and would not bow to any pressure. He added that the state’s authority would be upheld at all costs while focusing on education, employment, skills development, and merit-based opportunities to rebuild young people’s confidence.
The Balochistan security meeting took place amid heightened security concerns following recent terrorist attacks and ongoing counter-terrorism operations across the province. Officials said security measures and development initiatives would continue simultaneously to promote lasting peace, stability, and economic progress.
