Ukraine rejects Iran threats and has accused Tehran of being directly involved in Russia’s military campaign against Ukraine. The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said recent statements from Iran were baseless and insisted that Tehran could not portray itself as a victim while Russia continued to use Iranian-made weapons.
In a statement issued on Monday, Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry said Russia was deploying Iranian-made weapons in its ongoing war against Ukraine. The ministry argued that this made Iran a participant in the conflict rather than an uninvolved observer.
The ministry also claimed that Russian attacks in the Black Sea have become a serious threat to global food security by disrupting maritime routes and regional stability. It said these attacks continue to affect international trade and grain exports.
According to the Ukrainian government, Iran is attempting to divert international attention from Russia’s military actions and their broader global consequences. Kyiv said such efforts undermine international understanding of the conflict.
Ukraine further stated that Iran’s recent remarks are inconsistent with the facts on the ground. It urged the international community to closely examine what it described as Tehran’s role in supporting Russia during the conflict.
The latest exchange reflects continuing diplomatic tensions between Kyiv and Tehran since the start of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Relations between the two countries have remained strained over allegations concerning the supply of military equipment.
Iran has previously denied supplying weapons for use in the war and has rejected accusations of direct involvement in the conflict. Ukraine’s latest statement adds to the ongoing international dispute over the role of foreign support in Russia’s military campaign.
