PSL 2026 captains speak on team strategies, season hopes

LAHORE – With just one day to go before the start of the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), captains of all participating teams addressed a joint press conference at Gaddafi Stadium on Wednesday. The season will kick off with defending champions Lahore Qalandars taking on Hyderabad Kingsmen.

Hyderabad Kingsmen captain Marnus Labuschagne said his team is focused on quickly building chemistry and performing as a cohesive unit. He emphasized teamwork and preparation as key to success in the tournament.

Rawalpindi’s captain Mohammad Rizwan expressed confidence in a competitive season, promising fans exciting, high-quality cricket. “All teams are geared up to deliver strong performances throughout the tournament,” he said.

Multan Sultans captain Ashton Turner said he is pleased to be in Pakistan and is optimistic about his squad’s potential. Turner highlighted the talent and versatility in his team, aiming to produce entertaining cricket for fans.

PSL 2026 officially begins tomorrow at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, with the opening match between Lahore Qalandars and Hyderabad Kingsmen. Fans across Pakistan and worldwide are eagerly awaiting the first clash of the season.
