Israeli strikes target southern Lebanon towns

Israeli occupation forces carried out a series of air and artillery strikes across southern Lebanon on Friday, according to Lebanese state media. Heavy shelling struck Hanine in the Bint Jbeil district, while a drone strike in Aita Al Shaab injured several people.

Overnight, Israeli warplanes targeted additional towns, including Majdal Selm, Hadatha, and Haris. Further strikes hit Zibqin, Tayri, and the area between Ramadiya and Siddiqine, signaling a continued cross-border escalation.

A Lebanese military source told Qatar News Agency (QNA) that some army units were repositioned five to seven kilometers inland to protect personnel amid Israeli incursions in Khiam, Kfar Kila, and Marjayoun.

The source added that at least five bridges, including the Qasmiyeh bridge, were damaged, apparently to disrupt transportation links between southern Lebanon and other regions.

The Lebanese army is focused on maintaining internal security and preventing unrest, particularly amid political disputes over arms control, while keeping a close watch on border activity.
