Trump’s Tough Call Pushes Israel Toward Lebanon Ceasefire Talks

Bloomberg has reported that Lebanon was unexpectedly included in a ceasefire agreement, signaling a sudden shift in regional diplomacy.

According to CNN, the development followed a tense phone call between Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu. Sources described the conversation as “firm” and unusually direct.

Shortly after the call, Israel announced its willingness to begin direct ceasefire negotiations with Lebanon. Reports suggest that Netanyahu realized delaying talks could prompt Trump to unilaterally declare a ceasefire.

This development came just a day after Trump announced a two-week ceasefire related to Iran, while also expressing concern that Israeli military actions were undermining peace efforts.

During the call, Trump reportedly urged Netanyahu to scale back attacks against Hezbollah in Lebanon. The request followed a deadly day in which over 300 people were reportedly killed in Israeli strikes.

Bloomberg further revealed that Netanyahu was informed only shortly before the announcement that Lebanon would be included in the ceasefire deal. Analysts believe this pressure played a key role in pushing Israel toward negotiations.
