Punjab crime rise Safe City project has come under scrutiny after Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz took serious notice of the increasing crime rate across the province despite the implementation of advanced surveillance systems.
Chairing a high-level meeting, the chief minister expressed disappointment over the Punjab crime rise Safe City project situation and summoned officials to review law and order conditions in different districts.
She strongly criticized the performance of police officials in Sheikhupura and Faisalabad, stating that failure to control crime in these areas was unacceptable.

She emphasized that Punjab crime rise Safe City project concerns are serious and described the situation as “shameful and alarming,” urging immediate and visible improvements in policing outcomes.
Maryam Nawaz also stated that political interference in police postings has been eliminated, and officers are now expected to deliver results without excuses or delays in performance.
She highlighted recent incidents, including vehicle battery theft in Gulberg Lahore and robbery cases in Gujrat, calling them disturbing examples of rising street crime.
The chief minister concluded that despite the Punjab crime rise Safe City project infrastructure, the persistence of crime shows the need for stronger accountability and stricter law enforcement across the province.
