Severe Heatwave Expected in Punjab from May 7 to 11

The Punjab heatwave warning has been issued as the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) forecasts a severe rise in temperatures across the province from May 7 to May 11.

According to officials, the Punjab heatwave warning indicates that upper regions of Punjab may experience temperatures between 39°C and 43°C during this period, affecting major cities and surrounding districts.

Southern Punjab is expected to face even harsher conditions, with temperatures likely to reach 43°C to 47°C. The Punjab heatwave warning highlights high risk areas including Multan, Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, and nearby regions.

Authorities have placed all district administrations on high alert to manage the situation. The Punjab heatwave warning also includes instructions for emergency response teams to remain prepared for heat-related cases.

Officials have warned that dust storms and strong winds may also occur due to extreme heat conditions. The Punjab heatwave warning emphasizes increased risk for children, elderly individuals, and women.
