Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has said Iran will not compromise on national security, stressing that the country will respond firmly to threats. His remarks came during a consultative meeting with participants of the 40th International Islamic Unity Conference.
Araghchi said Iranian forces would respond to attacks in accordance with the threats facing the country. He stressed that protecting Iran’s security remains a key priority following the recent escalation involving the United States and Israel.
The Iranian foreign minister also discussed the country’s situation after what he described as a 12-day war. He said recent developments had created new security challenges and required Iran to remain prepared to defend its national interests.
According to Araghchi, Iran’s adversaries believed that their defeat in the previous conflict had not weakened the unity of the Iranian people. He said they therefore turned their focus toward creating divisions inside the country.
Araghchi further alleged that armed groups were sent into Iran as part of efforts to increase insecurity. He said the objective was also to weaken public confidence and challenge the legitimacy of the Islamic Republic.
The comments come as tensions involving Iran, the United States and Israel remain a major regional concern. Araghchi’s position indicates that Tehran continues to place national security and territorial stability among its central priorities.
