ASEAN Urges US and Iran for Permanent Peace Deal

The ASEAN US Iran peace call has gained global attention after Southeast Asian foreign ministers urged the United States and Iran to continue negotiations toward a permanent resolution of their ongoing conflict.

Meeting virtually, ASEAN foreign ministers stressed the urgent need to fully implement the ceasefire and move toward a long-term peace agreement that ensures regional stability.

The ASEAN US Iran peace call also highlighted concerns over the Strait of Hormuz, with ministers demanding safe and uninterrupted passage for vessels and aircraft through the strategic waterway.

Officials warned that continued instability in the region could have serious consequences for global energy and food supply chains, affecting millions across Asia and beyond.

ASEAN members emphasized the importance of securing energy access during crises and strengthening cooperation mechanisms to respond to supply disruptions and price shocks.

The ASEAN US Iran peace call further included plans to enhance coordination with key partners such as China, Japan, and South Korea to prevent food shortages and stabilize agricultural supply chains.

The bloc also discussed establishing a rapid crisis communication protocol among foreign ministers, as ASEAN prepares for its upcoming leaders’ summit focused on energy and food security.
