Security forces killed four terrorists, including Afghan national Ubaidullah Saad, during a successful Kurram IBO against militants, state media reported on Friday. The intelligence-based operation targeted members of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, also referred to by authorities as Fitna al Khwarij, in Kurram district.
According to security sources, Ubaidullah was the son of Ghulam Ghaus Salehi and belonged to Shah Qila village in Afghanistan’s Logar province. The sources said he was affiliated with Fitna al Khwarij and had been involved in multiple terrorist activities in Pakistan.
The Kurram IBO was conducted on the basis of intelligence information about militant activity in the district. Security forces successfully targeted the terrorists during the operation, resulting in the deaths of four militants, including the Afghan national.
Security sources said security forces would continue operations against anti-state elements without discrimination. They also said authorities would not compromise on Pakistan’s peace and security or the protection of people’s lives and property.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the security forces for conducting the successful intelligence-based operation in Kurram. He commended their professional capabilities and said the elimination of four terrorists demonstrated their preparedness and effectiveness in responding to security threats.
Naqvi also acknowledged the continued efforts of security personnel against militant groups. He said their operations remain important for maintaining law and order and supporting peace in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where security forces continue to conduct actions against terrorist threats.
The interior minister described the commitment of security forces as a source of national pride and appreciated their services in the fight against terrorism. He said the nation stands with the forces in efforts to counter militant activities and maintain stability across the country.
