KP Governor Pledges Unity With Federal Government

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has pledged closer cooperation with the federal government, saying both sides will work together without disagreements. He also announced plans to improve cleanliness, remove encroachments and address public service issues across the province. Kundi said the administration would focus on accountability and effective development projects.

Speaking about the cleanliness drive, the governor said the provincial campaign had started in Peshawar. He announced action against illegal encroachments and stressed that no individual would receive special treatment through recommendations. According to Kundi, the initiative aims to improve public spaces and strengthen enforcement across the province.

The governor also announced an inquiry into the disappearance of wheat supplies intended for the province. He said officials would investigate how the wheat went missing and establish the facts. Kundi added that the inquiry report would be released soon, although he did not specify a publication date.

Discussing development projects, Kundi said the government would prioritise schemes that deliver practical benefits to the public. He alleged that multiple departments had previously prepared bills for development work in the province. He said projects without clear public value would not proceed and pledged to prevent the misuse of public funds.

The KP governor also announced plans to improve traffic management through better enforcement and camera-based monitoring. He said a meeting had been called to discuss traffic regulations and related complaints. According to Kundi, the proposed system would improve traffic control and help address concerns about the challan process.

Kundi further said he would meet officials from the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) to discuss increasing electricity loadshedding. He also vowed to address electricity theft and said consumers would be expected to pay their bills. He expressed hope that electricity and gas-related issues would be resolved soon through coordination with the relevant authorities.

Reaffirming his position on relations with the federation, Kundi said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would cooperate with the federal government and other provinces. He stressed that the provinces should work together on common priorities rather than remain divided. His announced agenda covers public cleanliness, wheat supply investigations, development spending, traffic management and energy challenges.
