Pakistan Navy Begins SEASPARK-2026 Maritime Exercise

The Pakistan Navy has commenced the SEASPARK-2026 exercise in Karachi to assess its combat readiness against conventional and emerging maritime threats. The major exercise brings together multiple military capabilities.

The opening briefing was chaired by Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf. Senior officers from different branches of Pakistan’s armed forces also attended the event, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The SEASPARK-2026 exercise involves ships, submarines, aircraft, unmanned systems, marines and special forces. Elements from the Pakistan Army and Air Force are also participating to improve coordination during joint operations.

According to ISPR, the exercise will test Pakistan Navy’s ability to conduct operations across multiple domains. These include maritime, air, land, cyber and space-enabled capabilities, along with operations in the information environment.

The exercise is designed to strengthen the Navy’s ability to respond to changing security challenges. It will also help participating forces improve coordination and maintain an operational advantage during complex military scenarios.

Earlier, Admiral Naveed Ashraf visited fleet units and reviewed ongoing naval operations. Addressing personnel, he stressed the importance of high readiness, stronger cooperation among the three services, adaptability and effectiveness across physical and information domains.

The SEASPARK-2026 exercise comes after several recent naval activities aimed at strengthening Pakistan’s maritime capabilities. In April, the Navy successfully tested the locally developed Taimoor air-launched cruise missile and also completed a bilateral maritime exercise with China focused on interoperability and maritime cooperation.
