Pakistan Raises $3 Billion Through Dual-Tranche Eurobond Sale

Pakistan has raised $3 billion through a dual-tranche Eurobond sale in the international market. The government described the transaction as a major milestone for the economy.

The Ministry of Finance said the successful Pakistan Eurobond issuance reflected stronger confidence among international investors. The government also highlighted the country’s improved access to global capital markets.

According to the ministry, investors submitted offers worth around $6 billion for the bonds. Pakistan secured the full $3 billion in a single transaction for the first time, showing strong demand from international investors.

The Eurobond sale includes two dollar-denominated bonds with maturities of five-and-a-half years and 10 years. Pakistan will pay interest rates ranging from 7.50% to 7.90% on the total amount raised.

The government plans to use the funds from the Pakistan Eurobond issuance to repay existing debt. Officials said the transaction will help meet the country’s financing needs while supporting its return to international capital markets.

Finance Minister’s Adviser Khurram Shahzad had earlier said the dual-tranche offering targeted global investors through two dollar-denominated bonds. He said improved economic stability and stronger macroeconomic indicators had helped restore investor confidence.

The Ministry of Finance said Pakistan’s improved credit rating and better debt repayment outlook also supported the successful sale. Officials described the $3 billion Eurobond issuance as an important step in rebuilding Pakistan’s position in the global financial system.
