President Zardari Kyrgyzstan visit begins on July 6 as President Asif Ali Zardari embarks on a four-day official trip to Kyrgyzstan at the invitation of President Sadyr Zhaparov. According to Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), the visit is the first by a Pakistani head of state to the Central Asian nation in 21 years and is expected to further strengthen bilateral relations.
Leading a high-level delegation, President Zardari will remain in Kyrgyzstan until July 9. During the visit, he is scheduled to hold one-on-one talks with President Zhaparov, followed by delegation-level meetings covering the full spectrum of Pakistan-Kyrgyzstan relations and key regional and international developments.
MoFA described the visit as a historic milestone, noting that it follows President Zhaparov’s visit to Pakistan in December 2025. Officials said the continued exchange of high-level visits reflects the growing partnership between the two friendly countries and their shared commitment to expanding cooperation.
The discussions are expected to focus on increasing collaboration in trade, investment, energy, mining, agriculture, textiles, the halal industry, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, the digital economy, education, tourism and people-to-people exchanges. Both sides are also expected to explore new opportunities for economic and commercial partnerships.
During his stay, President Zardari will also receive the Speaker of the Kyrgyz Parliament for a courtesy meeting. The visit is expected to reinforce diplomatic engagement and promote closer institutional cooperation between Islamabad and Bishkek.
Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan have already agreed to raise bilateral trade to 200 million dollars by 2027-28 through agreements covering commerce, energy, mining, agriculture, tourism, healthcare, culture, customs cooperation and regional connectivity. Both countries have also reaffirmed support for the CASA-1000 electricity project and the Quadrilateral Traffic in Transit Agreement (QTTA).
The President Zardari Kyrgyzstan visit is expected to build on recent diplomatic momentum and further strengthen cooperation across multiple sectors. Officials from both countries hope the visit will open new avenues for economic growth, regional connectivity and long-term strategic partnership.
