Seven Terrorists Killed in North Waziristan Operation

Security forces killed seven militants during an intelligence-based North Waziristan operation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to information reported on October 9. The action was conducted as part of ongoing counterterrorism efforts under the Azm-e-Istehkam vision.

According to security sources, the operation targeted members of Fitna al-Khawarij, a term used by Pakistani authorities for the group. All seven militants were reportedly killed during the action. The operation forms part of continued efforts to target suspected militant networks in the region.

Security personnel also recovered a substantial quantity of weapons and ammunition from the militants. In addition, forces destroyed hideouts associated with the group during the operation. These actions were aimed at disrupting militant activity and limiting the group’s ability to operate in the area.

The North Waziristan operation comes amid continued security activities in parts of the former tribal districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Authorities have maintained counterterrorism operations in areas where security threats persist, with intelligence-based actions forming part of their response.

Security sources said operations under the Azm-e-Istehkam vision would continue until what they described as foreign-backed terrorism was eliminated. This position reflects the stated objective of ongoing operations, although the latest report did not provide further details about the intelligence that led to the action.

A day earlier, security forces reportedly killed nine militants, including four senior commanders, in separate intelligence-based operations in North Waziristan. Those operations were conducted in Palangzai, Nadeem Kot and Kot Khazri, according to the reported information.

The four commanders identified in the earlier report were Khalid Raza, Kamran, Musa and Maftoon. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered, while several hideouts were destroyed. The latest operation adds to the series of counterterrorism actions reported in North Waziristan as security forces continue targeting suspected militant positions.
