Chinese President Xi Jinping has outlined four key principles for achieving a lasting solution to the Palestine issue, emphasizing political dialogue, the two-state solution, Palestinian governance and the protection of civilians.
According to Xi Jinping, the first principle is to prioritize a political settlement and work toward a two-state solution. He stressed that a political pathway is essential to achieving lasting peace between Palestinians and Israelis and resolving the long-running conflict.
The second principle focuses on Palestinian governance. Xi said that Palestinians themselves should govern the people living in the West Bank and post-war Gaza, allowing Palestinians to play a central role in determining their political future.
The Chinese president identified the protection of civilians and humanitarian principles as the third key point. He emphasized the importance of protecting civilians during conflict and ensuring that humanitarian assistance can reach people affected by the crisis.
Xi’s fourth principle is based on justice and equality. He said that any lasting settlement should take into account the legitimate rights and interests of all sides and should be based on fairness and equality.
China has consistently supported a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and has called for a political settlement based on international principles. Beijing maintains that addressing the legitimate national rights of the Palestinian people is essential for achieving lasting peace and stability in the Middle East.
Xi Jinping’s four principles therefore place political negotiations, Palestinian self-governance, civilian protection, humanitarian considerations, justice and equality at the center of efforts to resolve the Palestine issue.
