Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has congratulated the people of Gilgit-Baltistan on the successful conduct of peaceful, transparent, and politically vibrant elections. He described the electoral process as a positive reflection of democratic values and public participation.
In his statement, the prime minister said that Pakistan Peoples Party emerged as the majority political party in the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly elections and deserved congratulations for its performance. He also extended his congratulations to Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on the party’s electoral success.
Shehbaz Sharif further congratulated the successful candidates of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, praising them for running a strong campaign and putting up a competitive contest. He commended party workers and candidates for their dedication and hard work throughout the election process.
The prime minister also congratulated all winning candidates regardless of political affiliation. He said the people of Gilgit-Baltistan demonstrated political awareness and democratic responsibility through their active participation in the electoral process.
According to Shehbaz Sharif, peaceful and transparent elections are among the key strengths of a democratic system. He noted that the active involvement of political parties contributed to a healthy democratic environment and strengthened public confidence in electoral institutions.
He praised the efforts of the Election Commission of Pakistan for ensuring a fair, transparent, and impartial election process. The prime minister described the commission’s role as commendable in maintaining the credibility of the polls.
Shehbaz Sharif also acknowledged the contributions of police and law enforcement agencies in maintaining security and order during the elections. He said their efforts helped create a peaceful environment, enabling voters to exercise their democratic rights without fear or disruption.
