JUI-F Raises Concerns Over Gilgit-Baltistan Election Results

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) has expressed reservations over the election results, questioning the fairness of the counting process in certain constituencies. The party has called for greater transparency to ensure public confidence in the democratic process.

Senior JUI-F leader Abdul Ghafoor Haideri stated that concerns related to Form 45 have raised serious questions about the credibility of the election results. He emphasized that any attempt to undermine the public mandate would be unacceptable and should be thoroughly investigated.

According to Haideri, efforts were allegedly made to turn a winning position for a JUI-F candidate into a defeat. He stressed that transparent and impartial elections are essential for maintaining trust in democratic institutions and ensuring that voters’ choices are accurately reflected.

The JUI-F leadership urged election authorities to address all complaints fairly and transparently. The party maintained that resolving electoral disputes through proper legal and administrative channels is crucial for strengthening democratic norms in the region.

Meanwhile, the process of compiling unofficial election results continues across Gilgit-Baltistan. Based on complete unofficial results from 18 of the 24 assembly constituencies, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has emerged as the leading political force with nine seats.

Independent candidates have secured five seats, while Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has won three seats. Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) has claimed one seat. The final political landscape of the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly will become clear once official results are announced by the relevant election authorities.
