The Sindh rain forecast indicates that intermittent rainfall is expected across several districts from today until July 27, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD). Authorities have also warned of possible urban flooding in low-lying areas due to continued monsoon activity.
The PMD stated that a low-pressure weather system over southwest Rajasthan and neighbouring regions, combined with strong monsoon winds from the Arabian Sea, is bringing significant moisture into southern and central Sindh. These conditions are likely to trigger widespread rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds across the province.
Districts expected to receive rainfall include Tharparkar, Umerkot, Mirpurkhas, Badin, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Allahyar, Hyderabad, Sanghar, Shaheed Benazirabad, Kashmore, Jacobabad, Shikarpur, Sukkur, Khairpur, Dadu, and nearby areas. Rainfall may occur intermittently over the coming days.
The weather department has warned that heavy rainfall could lead to urban flooding, particularly in Tharparkar, Umerkot, Mirpurkhas, Badin, Hyderabad, and other vulnerable locations. Strong winds and lightning may also damage weak infrastructure, including electricity poles, trees, and poorly constructed buildings.
For Karachi, the forecast suggests mostly cloudy, hot, and humid weather over the next three days. Thunderstorms with rain are possible in the city’s outskirts today, while other areas may experience light showers or drizzle.
Temperatures in Karachi are expected to range between 33°C and 35°C today, with maximum temperatures likely to rise to 34°C to 36°C on Sunday and Monday. Occasional drizzle may continue during this period, although widespread heavy rainfall is not currently expected across the city.
