PMD forecasts widespread rain across Sindh until July 27, warning that isolated heavy downpours could trigger urban flooding in low-lying areas. The Pakistan Meteorological Department said strong monsoon activity is expected to affect several southern and central districts over the coming days.
According to the Met Office, a low-pressure system over southwest Rajasthan and adjoining regions, combined with strong monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea, is influencing weather conditions across Sindh. These weather systems are expected to bring rain, dust storms, and thunderstorms to many parts of the province.
The PMD said moderate to heavy rainfall is likely in Tharparkar, Umerkot, Mirpurkhas, Badin, Sanghar, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Allahyar, Hyderabad, Matiari, Jamshoro, and Shaheed Benazirabad from Friday through July 27. Rainfall is expected to continue with occasional breaks during the forecast period.
PMD forecasts widespread rain across Sindh and said light to moderate showers with thunderstorms are also expected in Ghotki, Kashmore, Jacobabad, Shikarpur, Sukkur, Qambar Shahdadkot, Larkana, Khairpur, Naushahro Feroze, and Thatta. Authorities have been advised to remain alert as weather conditions may change rapidly.
The department warned that strong winds and lightning could damage vulnerable infrastructure, including solar panels, electricity poles, trees, and roadside billboards. It also cautioned that heavy rainfall may cause urban flooding in several districts, particularly in low-lying areas where water accumulation is likely.
The PMD advised farmers to schedule agricultural activities according to the weather forecast and take measures to protect livestock. It added that the ongoing hot and humid conditions are expected to ease as rain-bearing weather systems move across the province.

Light rain or drizzle is also likely at isolated locations over the weekend, with temperatures expected to range between 28°C and 37°C.
