Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed that more than 200 US troops were killed during retaliatory strikes targeting American military positions in the Middle East. The statement was made by IRGC spokesperson General Hossein Mohibi during an interview with an Iranian state news agency. The United States has not confirmed these claims.
According to General Mohibi, Iranian forces launched attacks on eight US military facilities following what Tehran described as a violation of a previous understanding. He alleged that around 20 protective military shelters at one of the targeted locations were completely destroyed during the operations.
The IRGC spokesperson also rejected the casualty figures released by Washington, describing them as inaccurate. He urged the US government to allow independent journalists to visit the affected military bases so they could verify the extent of the reported damage and casualties.
In addition to personnel losses, Iran claimed it destroyed 11 US military aircraft and helicopters during the recent attacks. The reported equipment allegedly included an F-15 fighter jet, a P-8 maritime surveillance aircraft, a C-17 military transport aircraft, and eight aerial refuelling aircraft. No independent verification has been provided for these claims.
General Mohibi further stated that Iranian forces destroyed 17 intelligence and operational drones, including eight newly deployed unmanned aerial vehicles. These statements remain unverified by independent international observers.
Meanwhile, former US President Donald Trump recently warned that Iran had “not yet suffered enough” and suggested that further military action remained under consideration. The comments have added to concerns over growing tensions in the region.
In a separate statement, the IRGC also warned Israel against re-entering the conflict. Iranian officials said Israel understands the potential consequences of renewed military involvement and cautioned that any future participation in the conflict would result in severe repercussions. The situation remains highly sensitive, with international observers closely monitoring developments.
