Hajj 2026: PIA completes flight preparations

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has finalized preparations for its pre-Hajj operations, sources confirmed. Flights will begin on April 18 and continue until May 21, initially serving pilgrims traveling to Madinah and Jeddah. In total, PIA plans to transport more than 60,000 pilgrims through 202 scheduled flights.

Of these pilgrims, 49,000 will travel under the government Hajj scheme, while 11,000 will use the private Hajj scheme. PIA will operate direct flights from Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Sialkot, Quetta, Faisalabad, and Multan to facilitate smooth travel.

The post-Hajj operation will start on May 30 and continue until June 30, ensuring the safe return of pilgrims. The airline will deploy Boeing 777 and Airbus 320 aircraft for both pre- and post-Hajj services.

Officials said all arrangements have been made to ensure comfort, safety, and punctuality for pilgrims during the entire operation. This annual Hajj service is a key part of Pakistan’s overall Hajj arrangements.

Pilgrims and travel agencies are advised to follow PIA’s schedule and boarding procedures carefully to ensure a smooth journey to the holy cities of Madinah and Makkah.
