Pakistan US-Iran ceasefire

Khawaja Asif Hails Pakistan’s Role in Halting Global War

Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has praised Pakistan for successfully preventing a major international conflict, calling the US-Iran ceasefire a historic achievement for the country. He said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir played key roles in the mediation.

Speaking to reporters outside Parliament House, Khawaja Asif stated that Pakistan’s efforts earned global recognition. “Allah has given Pakistan respect worldwide. We are now recognized as a reliable mediator in the region and across the globe,” he said.

He highlighted that even the Arab world and major powers, including the United States, are closely observing Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts. “Until yesterday evening, the clouds of war loomed heavily, but our leadership’s mediation brought success,” he added.

Khawaja Asif emphasized that Pakistan’s hybrid leadership model, combining civilian and military coordination, has achieved remarkable success over the past few years. This demonstrates that unified national efforts can secure significant international achievements.

He also criticized Indian leadership, stating, “Modi is left powerless; his media now struggles to cope. Pakistan has defeated a much stronger opponent, and India is still trying to restore its credibility.”

The minister stressed that Pakistan must now focus on domestic stability, economic development, and combating terrorism. He noted that Afghanistan should respect Pakistan’s long-standing hospitality, warning that failure to do so could leave Pakistan with limited options.

Khawaja Asif concluded that the ceasefire not only stabilizes regional peace but also marks a new era for Pakistan politically and economically, strengthening its position on the global stage.
