Supreme Court SOPs Pakistan

SC Issues SOPs for Uninterrupted Judicial Work During Holidays

The Supreme Court SOPs Pakistan were officially notified on Tuesday to ensure uninterrupted judicial functioning during unforeseen public holidays. The move aims to maintain continuity in court operations even under extraordinary circumstances.

According to the Supreme Court SOPs Pakistan, administrative and judicial work will generally continue during emergency-declared holidays with minimal essential staff, unless otherwise directed by the Chief Justice of Pakistan.

The new framework prioritizes urgent civil and criminal matters under the Supreme Court SOPs Pakistan, including bail applications, family disputes, review petitions, and cases involving elderly prisoners or time-sensitive legal questions.

Officials said that to reduce case backlog, at least 40 percent of daily cause lists will include older pending cases, particularly those filed up to 2018, ensuring faster disposal under the Supreme Court SOPs Pakistan system.

The SOPs also introduce structured scheduling through weekly and monthly cause lists, along with an automated case fixation system designed to improve transparency and efficiency in judicial processes.

The Supreme Court SOPs Pakistan further include special facilitation for litigants from remote provinces such as Sindh and Balochistan, ensuring equal access to justice across regions.

The Supreme Court emphasized that these measures reflect its commitment to a technology-driven and citizen-focused judicial system, aimed at reducing delays and improving overall case management.
