Saudi Arabia has provided financial assistance worth $2 million to support Palestinian refugees through the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA). The contribution reflects the Kingdom’s continued commitment to humanitarian support for Palestinians facing difficult conditions across the region.
According to international media reports, the financial contribution was officially presented to UNRWA as part of Saudi Arabia’s annual support for the agency’s budget, operational activities, and humanitarian programs. The funding aims to help the organization continue its relief efforts for millions of Palestinian refugees.
Saudi Ambassador to Jordan, Prince Mansour bin Khalid bin Farhan, handed over the cheque during an official ceremony. He emphasized that Saudi Arabia remains firmly committed to supporting the Palestinian cause under the directives of the Kingdom’s leadership.
The ambassador stated that the assistance is intended to strengthen UNRWA’s ability to fulfill its humanitarian, educational, social, and medical responsibilities toward Palestinian refugees. He highlighted the importance of supporting vulnerable communities, especially during ongoing regional challenges and humanitarian crises.
Prince Mansour also praised the critical role played by UNRWA in delivering essential services and reducing the suffering of Palestinian refugees. He noted that the agency continues to provide hope and stability to displaced families through its various welfare programs.
