The BTS American Music Awards victory became one of the biggest highlights of the entertainment industry this week as BTS won Artist of the Year at the 2026 American Music Awards in Las Vegas. The globally popular K-pop group defeated major international stars, including Taylor Swift and Bad Bunny.
The seven-member group also secured Best Male K-pop Artist and Song of the Summer for their hit single “Swim”. During the ceremony, BTS member RM thanked fans known as ARMY for supporting the group throughout their 13-year journey. The emotional speech received loud cheers from fans attending the event.
The BTS American Music Awards success marked a major comeback moment for the band after completing South Korea’s mandatory military service. BTS had announced a hiatus in 2022, but returned earlier this year with their fifth studio album “Arirang”, which topped the Billboard 200 chart for two consecutive weeks.

Other artists also enjoyed successful nights at the awards show. Global girl group Katseye won three awards, including New Artist of the Year. The voices behind the fictional music group HUNTR/X from the Netflix film “KPop Demon Hunters” also received multiple honours during the event.
